Master Deveau, President/Founder of Equado Martial Arts and Police Officer for the City of Waukegan, Illinois, is a licensed IDSA Instructor who is currently developing specialized IDSA programs for the visually impaired in conjunction with rehabilitation therapists such as Jeannine Lawler-Szostak, a VI Orientation & Mobility Specialist.

In February, 2002, Master Deveau met with Master Schmidt while attending the IPDTI (International Police Defensive Tactics Institute, an IDSA affiliate) 2-day certification course held at the IDSA Headquarters school in Asheville, NC. Click here to view pictures taken at this event

Master Deveau was contacted by GLASA (the Greater Lakes Adaptive Sports Association) to instruct a Special Needs Self-Defense class for the disabled / vision impaired. The College of Lake County (CLC) donated space in the aerobics room at the main campus gym for this special course which was held between January 23rd, 2002 and March 21st, 2002.
